Crazy Simple Ways to Save Money on Beauty Products

Barbados News

Did you run out of your beloved moisturizer or use the last of your favourite face mask? Why does it feel like beauty products continue to get more and more expensive, while the bottles look tinier and tinier? Beauty care can be exhausting and frustrating, especially when your skin needs to be moisturized and cleaned on the daily.

This week’s blog post is all about saving money while ensuring you are using high quality beauty products that your skin deserves. Gone are the days of spending a fortune, or giving in and scraping by with low quality beauty products. Especially ones that may be filled with sulphates or chemicals that are harmful to your skin.

Shop Local

One of the best ways to save money, and something that people often look past, is buying local and homemade. With some research, you’ll be sure to find that there are small, organic companies and entrepreneurs in your community who are making their own beauty products. There are so many different benefits to shopping local: The beauty products will be created using natural products, you will ditch the high prices, AND you will be supporting local people/businesses. It’s a win win-win!

Some businesses may even offer a program where they will take in your empty bottles or products and give you a discount on your next product. While designed to increase customer loyalty, these programs will also save you money while allowing you to shop local, and buy higher quality products!

Less is Always More

By far the simplest tip to save money on beauty products is to ensure they last as long as possible. Always remember, less is more, especially with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Mix products with a splash of water to help lather the products into your hair and body. Another common mistake is throwing bottles out that may have at least one or two more uses out of them. Tip them upside down to gather the remaining product from the bottle.

Get Creative, Make Your Own

Last but not least, the most exciting (and fun) way to save on beauty products is by making your own. There are hundreds and hundreds of different “do it your self” beauty products and regimes that you can introduce to your routine.

Homemade Clay MaskIngredients

1 tbsp Bentonite Clay
1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1-2 drop Lavender Oil (optional)

Mix ingredients together using non-metal utensils until a paste forms. Apply paste evenly across face and let sit until it dries, about 30 minutes. If you have more sensitive skin, consider only leaving it on for 10-15 minutes.
